Our Services
CARE stands for Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Rehabilitation and Exercise, but we offer so much more. CARE is a full service integrative, rehabilitation and pain management clinic serving dogs, cats and exotic pets in Houston Texas.

Chiropractic or Soft Tissue Mobilization
A science, an art and a philosophy. It addresses disease from the perspective that disease results from an imbalance in the nervous system. Chiropractic works by restoring proper biomechanics and function to the spine and nervous system.
Indications for chiropractic include: sudden change in behavior, lameness, decreased mobility, osteoarthritis, degenerative joint disease, IVDD (inter-vertebral disc disease), back/neck pain or stiffness, lethargy, general maintenance and prevention, and enhanced quality of life and athletic performance.

Our chiropractic philosophy is less is more. Most of our patients respond to low level joint mobilizations verses higher velocity chiropractic thrusts making it a safe and effective option for the majority of patients.

Acupuncture or Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM)
Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) is based on the belief that there is a vital force or energy, called Qi, that flows through the body. Disease results from a disruption or blockage of the flow of Qi. TCVM is all about keeping the body in balance. Acupuncture is one form of TCVM that uses acupoints to help return the body to balance and health.
Indications for TCVM include: chronic disease, musculoskeletal problems, neurological problems, pain control, respiratory problems, cardiovascular problems, allergies, kidney problems, gastrointestinal problems, skin problems, cancer and disease prevention.

Rehabilitation
Therapy is restoring function post injury and decreasing pain. Rehabilitation is for acute and chronic injuries and can be used to try to prevent surgery or to improve surgical results.
Indications for rehabilitation include: injury, loss of function, surgery, pain and aging.

Exercise
Therapeutic exercises are exercises that are used to improve function. Core exercises are just one example of therapeutic exercises.
Therapeutic exercises are very specific exercises that are tailored to the individual patient’s needs.
Indications for therapeutic exercises: prevention of injury, diagnosis of early orthopedic disease, arthritis and enhancement of athletic function.

Radiology (Coming Soon!)
CARE Veterinary Services is proud to offer table free radiographs. Placing patients on a table to obtain radiographs is often stressful and sometimes painful. Our highly trained team not only can take radiographs of our patients on the floor, we also specialize in taking advanced orthopedic imaging verses taking traditional survey films that may miss small changes. We also offer OFA certification radiographs.

Musculoskeletal Ultrasound
MSK ultrasound is a diagnostic tool to help identify problems with soft tissue structures that do not show up on radiographs. MSK ultrasound looks for tendon and ligament injuries as well as muscle tears.
